The City That Never Sleeps

You look around you, you see people taking selfies, yellow cabs, skyscrapers, people in costumes, people taking more selfies, lights in every corner—and it all hits you, you are in New York City.

1pm, 12am or 4am…

Here, time does not exist, for this my friends is the city that never sleeps.

Times Square is the perfect place to be if you are wondering why this city is known as the city that never sleeps. For here, everyone is moving, it is crowded and busy and both excitement and energy crawl upon you before you even know it.

As you walk to times square, a gust of energy springs forth and you feel alive, perhaps more alive than ever before. The lights, the crowd and the liveliness all surround you and they make you realize that there is beauty even in the busiest of places.

If you are in New York City, visiting Times Square is a must. See the lights, feel the energy and experience the crowd for yourself!

– Apart from looking at the luminous billboards, I would recommend checking out the following around Times Square as well: Broadway shows, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, Discovery Times Square and M&M world!

– While there are many places to see around Times Square as it is a very lively place, feel free to take some time to take it all in! Times Square is a perfect location to people watch.

– From Minnie Mouse to Batman to the Statue of Liberty, you will notice people dressed in costumes at Times Square, feel free to take pictures with them but just keep in mind that you are expected to tip them if you do take a picture.

– Lastly, while you can visit Times Square at any time (I have been there in the afternoon, late evening and after midnight as well) I would recommend you to visit Times Square when it is dark outside just so you get the full experience (yes, we’re talking luminous billboards and more).

“There is something in the New York air that makes sleep useless” – Simone de Beauvoir

Come get a taste of the air!

Stay tuned for my next posts: We will explore Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), two places you need to visit if you are in New York City!

Lots of love from NYC. I’ll catch you in my next post!

Goodnight… never mind, what is sleep again?
